Urgent Humanitarian Aid Needed for IDPs in Nammati

On the night of 25 April 2026, at around 10:00 PM, the St. Teresa IDP Camp, located inside the Nammati Sugar Factory compound, where some conflict-displaced civilians from the Lawa Monastery area are temporarily sheltering, was severely affected by a strong windstorm and heavy rainfall lasting nearly one hour.

As a result of the storm, significant damage was caused to residential shelters, including the worship hall and other living structures. Urgent humanitarian assistance is now needed for the displaced families affected by this disaster.

KHRW calls on humanitarian organizations, local authorities, and concerned communities to provide immediate support and emergency relief to those in need.
